Company is seeking a detail-oriented and organizedLegal Assistant to support their legal team with administrative and clerical duties. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of legal operations by preparing documents, maintaining files, and assisting attorneys with day-to-day tasks. This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, reliable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is eligible for OT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, primarily in litigation, with occasional assistance in other practice areas.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, letters, and memoranda according to firm standards; transcribe dictation as needed.
- Exhibit exceptional client service by greeting guests, managing communications, scheduling meetings, and coordinating telephone conferences.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, prioritize tasks effectively, and respond to requests with urgency and professionalism.
- Interact with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to exchange information, resolve issues, and monitor deadlines and docket entries.
- Manage client files, emails, and mail while adhering to the firm's Information Governance Policy; process payments and reimbursements.
- File court documents electronically and assist in creating, maintaining, and retiring records.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm or legal setting; additional legal education or coursework is preferred.
- Ability to work 40-50 hours per week and apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues effectively.
- Strong knowledge of the litigation process, general court operations, and e-filing procedures with various courts.
- Ability to organize and manage large volumes of documents, saving them in document management systems, and preparing, editing, and proofreading correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; capable of interpreting and working with complex legal documents and instructions.
- Skilled in maintaining calendars, tracking case deadlines, scheduling meetings, depositions, and conference calls, and sending invites and reminders.
